“I used to watch vlogs of other Au Pairs on YouTube, and this inspired me years ago to do the same after finishing school. For the last four years, I’ve been a youth group leader for children aged 8 to 13. While planning trips to other climbing gyms or climbing crags and teaching them how to climb and playing different climbing related games, I realized how much I enjoy motivating and supporting kids. For me it’s one of the best feelings in the world, to watch them surpass themselves, achieve their goals and overcome their fears. Moreover, being a tutor also has shown me that I have a passion for teaching, which is why I’m planning to become a teacher in the future. So I hope spending a year abroad and living with a host family will not only improve my English but also allows me to experience another culture in an authentic way. I’m really looking forward to living with another family and being part of their everyday life for a longer period of time.”
