“Since I did an exchange program in the US in 2019 I wanted to go abroad for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, back then it did not work out, so I see this as an opportunity to go abroad before I start university next year. Participating in many exchanges at school showed me that I love to challenge myself with new surroundings and situations. I love meeting new people and getting an inside view of their life. I want to become an au pair because working with children has been a part of my life for a few years now. I have regularly been taking care of my neighbor’s kids for the last 8 years. Therefore I also have a little bit of experience and know what to expect as an au pair. When I look back in time, I can remember that my cousins had an au pair when they were younger and I know that they are still in touch with one of them. This very personal connection with a family from another country and its inside view of their culture is exactly why I want to live with a host family.”
