This is the current situation in Canada: When you hire a domestic worker (a nanny or a caregiver), Canada Revenue Agency deems you to be an Employer and the domestic worker to be your Employee. Consequently, you must process payroll.

Should you opt to use our Payroll Services, you will be freed from the need to monitor and perform ongoing payroll obligations.  Our service takes care of all payroll requirements for you. When you register for our payroll services, all you have to do is print the pay stub (Wage statement) and pay your nanny/caregiver employee on payday.  It’s that simple!  We take care of all the accounting administrative work on your behalf.
